3 Week Recap

The weeks are flying by and it is getting harder to stay on top of this blog.  We are 21 days away from baby number 3 joining our family.  We have been trying to squeeze a few things in as our little family of 4.  We celebrated Leyton’s 6th birthday and Father’s Day with a pool party at Kelly’s.  Both kids have had haircuts and Maggie went to the dentist.  We went camping twice and took the kids to their first parade.  The weather finally seems to be turning so hopefully we can get some more summer fun in before the baby.

Maggie finally tried out the slide at Kelly's solo and loved it.  I think she did it about 20 times.
Tommy was very excited to give Grandpa his Father's Day present.

This was Little Tom carrying Grandpa's present home from school.  He was so proud.
Maggie was also bursting with excitement to have Grandpa open her Father's Day gifts

Tommy post-swim.  He loves cuddling with the baby in my tummy.  I think he is going to be really sad when his pillow is gone.  He is super attached to it.  He cuddles with it multiple times a day.

Camping trip round #1 we went to Willow River State Park.  The weather was awful.  Rain and wind advisories...we didn't stay the night.  The kids had fun playing in the tent for about 4 hours though.

Basket head was a poplar game

Hiding in the sleeping bag was another game.

We have been having picnics every Wednesday for the past few weeks.  The kids like it and there is no clean up at home so it is a win-win.

We took the kids fishing at the state park for the first time this year

It was Tommy's first time fishing ever.  He was a little excited.

Maggie was upset because we made her come in and start getting ready for bed.  Tommy was trying to cheer her up.  But he couldn't keep a straight face.

Camping round #2.  Highland Ridge Campground.  It was a success!

Maggie relaxing.  She sure knows how to camp!

Tommy and I snuggling in the tent.  Both kids slept amazingly well.

More relaxing.

Maggie's long overdue haircut

Maggie at the dentist

She was such a big girl this time around.  She let them clean, polish and take x-rays of her teeth.

Tommy's turn for a haircut

He officially gets his hair done more than anyone else in the house.  Good thing he loves it!

I turned 35.  Maggie was super excited about my birthday.  I told her that one of these days she will stop wanting me to get older.

Tommy loves to go in the office and get into things.  He goes in there alone and shuts the french doors.  We spied on him and about died when we saw that he had actually weaseled his way up in to the big office chair.

Just doing a little bookkeeping :)

We took the kids to the pride parade for the first time.  It was super hot.  Maggie said she doesn't like parades.

Tommy seemed captivated by anything that was loud, alive or played music.  He liked the motorcycles and horses a lot.

This is Maggie and Sydney swinging.  They go super high.  Sydney is our neighbor who is 4 and also happens to be in Maggie's daycare class as well.  They play so well together.  It is usually a battle to get them inside at night.

Mastering the Monkey Bars

While Dan and Jessie were in Las Vegas, Lauren and Ella stayed at Grandma and Grandpa McNamara's.  Grandma had therapy one day so I took Maggie and Lauren and Ella to the park.  Maggie and Ella worked so hard on getting across the monkey bars--Lauren is an old pro.  They were so determined, I don't know how their little arms didn't fall off.  They all did the monkey bars over and over for about an hour.  But the hard work paid off by the time we left they had all mastered the monkey bars and all 3 had calluses to prove it.

Helmer Dance Recital 2014

Maggie had her dance recital June 7th at River Falls high school.  It was her second year in Helmer Dance lessons.  She made many improvements and was very entertaining this year.  I can’t wait to get the DVD of the recital.    We had lots of family come out and support our little dancer.  Thanks to all of those who made the trip.  Maggie was thrilled with all the flowers she received.  She also got her first ever trophy which she is extremely proud of.

Lucy and Grace were very helpful.  They helped change her shoes between dances.
