Visiting with my cousins & my new baby blanket!

On Wednesday, Grandma McNamara, Aunt Jessie and my cousins Lauren and Ella came over to visit for a while.  As a surprise to me (and my mommies), they brought over a handmade baby quilt that several people have been working on for a while now! (including Great Grandma Krumm, Grandma McNamara, Aunt Jessie and I think maybe Aunt Kelly too?)  Anyways, I absolutely LOVE my blanket.  Aunt Jessie said she was worried about whether or not we would like the fact that it has pink elephants on it.  Funny enough, mommy looked down at me when she said that and I was wearing pj's with pink elephants on it, so yes, we like elephants a LOT!  :)  Mommy (of course) made sure to take lots of pictures of their visit and pictures of me with my new blankie!

Grandma McNamara trying to calm me down.  I've been a little rowdy in the afternoons lately.  :)

Aunt Jessie and cousin Ella!

Cousin Lauren giving a big smile to the camera.

Cousin Ella pointing at me.  (Mommy likes to remind me that at my baby shower when I was still in her belly, she was holding Ella and I was kicking Ella from inside her belly - she hopes we'll get a kick out of that (pun intended) when we're older)

Cousin Ella laughing at me, not with me.  (as you can see by my face, I'm not laughing)  :)

Trying out my new quilt in my pink elephant pj's!

Mommy giving me kisses to try to get me smile.  Sorry mommy.  No smile.  Nice try though!

A good night's sleep makes baby happy!

I slept for a 6 hour stretch last night!  (in my swing of course .... mommy used the term "regress" to describe my night back in the swing ... I used the term "VICTORY!" to describe it)  It was great, and I'm in a super mood today thanks to the good sleep I got.

Mommy took advantage of my happy mood to take a few pictures of me after she dressed me this morning!

In honor of mommy's work...

Right now, mommy's staying home from work to take care of me until July.  When she does work though, she works for General Mills and sells Cheerios for a living!  While I haven't had solid foods yet, my mommies hope that Cheerios becomes one of my favorites!

Shortly after she found out she was pregnant with me, mommy was so excited that she went to the company store to buy me a Cheerios onesie.  I usually wear a white onesie under everything, so I haven't had much of a chance to wear my other short sleeved onesies.  Luckily, mommy noticed this in my drawer yesterday and put it on me for the night.  A few more weeks, and I would have outgrown it.  Mommies decided this was worth a photo shoot...  (big surprise)  :)

Kisses from mama!  :)

Look at that tummy!

What do you think?  Mommies think this looks like a smile!

Mommy called this one a "framer" ... whatever that means.

Grandma Morawitz's visit!

Some people may think it's crazy that my Grandma Morawitz would leave the warm state of Arizona to come to Wisconsin in the winter, and I'm pretty sure she'd agree with you!  Mommy told me this year marks the first time my grandma has ever visited in the winter, and this past week was the second time this year!  I'm thinking I might have something to do with that.  ;)

I had a fun time with Grandma!  We relaxed, went to Mall of America, went out to dinner in downtown Hudson and Stillwater and also went to coffee at the Bean Bag with family on Saturday!  (how cool to have both of my grandmas and my great grandma in one place!)

It was a great time, and I'm looking forward to my trip out to Arizona to visit at the end of February!

Below are a couple of pictures mommy took of me and Grandma Morawitz during the Vikings game on Sunday night.  Mommy insisted on having me wear green in honor of the Vikings.  (I'm still a Packers fan, even though their season is over...)  :)

Snoozing on Grandma's shoulder.

Green outfit compliments of my cousins Ella and Lauren!  I'm a few months behind Ella, so I get to borrow all sorts of clothes!

I think I have a better grip on Grandma's arm than Adrian Peterson had on the football during the game.

Making faces at Grandma.

Loving my links!

So far, my interaction with toys has been pretty limited.  My mommies try to get me excited about them, but I'm just not there yet.  :)  Recently though, I have started to grab on to some things, including the links my mommies bought me.  Check it out!

Life doesn't get much better than this.  Nuk.  Links.  My Boppy pillow.  Life is good.

Mommy loves this shot of my nose!

Can't a girl play without the constant flash of a camera?!

Game over.

Rearranging our sleep arrangements...

Now that I'm almost 6 weeks old, my mommies have decided to start easing me out of my swing, which is where I've been sleeping at night since I was about 2 weeks old.  (they don't leave the swing on at night - just long enough for me to fall asleep, then they turn it off, so it's more like a bassinet)

The first step is to get me in my Snuggle Nest, then my crib.  The first night (Monday night) in the nest went really well.  I slept in their bed in my nest, and I slept for 3-4 hour stretches at a time.  (see the pictures below of my cuddly nest!)

My mommy felt so good about that that she decided after only one night that she should try putting my nest in my crib and having me sleep in my own room last night.  One person in the house did really well with it - ME!  I slept for a 5 hour stretch in my nest in my crib.  My mommies on the other hand were paranoid and nervous all night, so their sleep was much less restful.  After my 2AM feeding, mommy brought me back into her bed so she could keep an eye on me.  I wonder what tonight will hold?

Me, mommy and Joey sleeping soundly.  (you can't see it, but I'm in my nest)  There are walls on the side to prevent my mommies from rolling on me.

Closer view of me and the nest.  Mommy normally sleeps on her other side, but when I'm in the nest, she likes to face me.  :)

More sleep...

Joey protecting us.

Mommy just said that looking at these pictures is making her sleepy.  :)

I love sleeping with my arms up!

Lunch with Mommies Friends!

This past weekend, we met up with some of mommies friends for lunch.  I met Darla and Molly for the first time, and I also made two new friends - Kate & Emme - Molly's twin girls!  Molly's babies are almost exactly 11 months older than me.  I can't wait to see more of them - especially when I get a little older and can play with them.  Darla's baby Garin couldn't join us, but I hope to meet him sometime soon too!

Me and Darla.

Kate holding on tight to her grilled cheese.  That sandwich looked so much better than what I had for lunch.  (milk)

A Week of Milestones...

Milestones this week:

  • I'm sleeping for 5+ hour stretches at night.
  • I'm really grabbing now.  I can hold my nuk!
  • I can stay awake and be content for longer periods of time.
  • I enjoy my baths now.  (I find them so soothing, I actually try to wiggle my way further into the water!)
  • I graduated to size "1" diapers.  No more newborns!  (that made my mommies kind of sad)
  • I'm SOOO close to really smiling.  My mommies are thinking (hoping) I'll flash a real smile sometime in the next week or so.  I know their faces are starting to hurt making me try!  :)
  • I got much better at nursing this week.  We can finally use the boppy pillow and mommy can now do multiple things while feeding me since I can hold myself up.  (unfortunately, one of those "things" she's starting to do is reading "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" - I'm not sure if I'm going to have much fun with that one)
  • I met my mommies doctor - Dr. Callanan!  While she didn't deliver me, she took such great care of me while I was in mommies tummy!

Happy in my tub with a warm, wet rag keeping my tummy warm!

Relaxing in my tub!

Content baby!

Being goofy with Mama!  That's MY Nuk!

Can you find me in this picture?  :)

We had a warm up this week, so my mommies took me outside for a little so I wouldn't feel like I lived in a bubble!  They might have gone overboard on the layers though, I was REALLY hot when they took me out of my snow suit.

Brother Joey got a haircut this week.  Doesn't he look handsome?

Peaceful sleeping baby.

Almost a smile!

Mommy was trying to get a picture of my clean, fuzzy hair in this one, but you can't really see it.  I have lots of hair on the top of my head and in the back right now.  Haven't lost much yet!

Meeting Dr. Callanan!  Thanks for taking such good care of me and mommy for 37 weeks!
