TD
Just in case you turn into a beast someday, I want you to
know how wonderful and sweet you have been the first 10 weeks of your
life. I have enjoyed nearly every minute
of you. You are mellow and
adorable. I could just eat you some days,
you are that cute. You eat and sleep
well. You are like a little raccoon looking
for food in the middle of the night. It
makes me laugh every time. Last night, you
were sleeping next to me (like you do every night) and you woke me up by
kicking your little legs against me--nudging me until I finally gave in and
woke. It made me laugh when I came to
and saw what you were doing. I am sure it
was like trying to wake a sleeping bear.
But when I gave in and got up and carried you to your room to change
your diaper at 2:15 AM you were smiling ear to ear and whispering sweet coos. I cannot not for one second be irritated,
tired or crabby when you need something in the middle of the night because you
are so STINKING HAPPY and CUTE! I don’t think
I have ever changed your diaper in the middle of the night and not got the
sweetest smile in return.
Or this morning, I was trying to multitask: breastfeeding you while drinking coffee and
trying to email my family. So I started
talking to Siri versus typing since I didn't have a free hand. I was rambling on and on. Talking really slow and loud so Siri could
understand and I glance down at you while you are eating and you are smiling and
laughing at me. You must think your mom
is really special. Every time I would start
to verbalize another sentence I would catch you looking at me and grinning ear-to-ear. It made me melt. I feel so lucky to share such wonderful
interactions with you. You are such a
blessing and surprise me all the time.
Maybe it is because I appreciate it more now that I know
what it is like to have to go back to work after having a baby or maybe it’s
because you are just easier than Tommy was, but I have appreciated every second
of maternity leave with you. So in case
you start getting ear infections or suddenly wake up with colic one day and
turn into a beast—I want you to know that your first 10 weeks of life have been
heavenly. The entire family adores
you. You fit in perfectly.
Teddy's 2 Month Checkup
Teddy had his 2 month check up on Wednesday (9/17/14). We were about two weeks late so it was actually
like a 2.5 month check. The good news is
Teddy is very healthy and happy! For a
little guy that was having trouble gaining weight in the beginning he has come a
long way. In fact, when the nurse input
Teddy’s weight, the computer flashed a warning asking her to double check the
weight input because it was such a big increase! Teddy actually weighs more than Tommy did at
2 months if you can imagine that…looks like we are going to have another big
boy on our hands! Teddy was so mellow, happy
and flirty during his appointment. I
think he might have a crush on his doctor!
Teddy’s 2.5 month stats:
Weight: 12lb 7 oz.
(35%)
Length: 22 ¾” (17%)
Weight for length:
(73%)
Head: 16” (77%) Looks like we have another big brain on our
hands!
For comparison Tommy was 11lb 13 oz and 22 ¾”.
So cute and calm!

Making sure my head is on straight :)
I love Dr. Montague. I couldn't stop smiling at her.
In fact, we had a whole conversation, just the two of us.
First shot
Ok, this stinks! I got over it pretty quickly though!
Willow River State Park
When we built our new house one of the things we were most
excited about was the location. We can literally walk to Willow River State
Park. I think between Susie and me, we
have been there at least 50 times since we moved in. This past Sunday was the
first time that the entire family has went on a hike together, including our dog,
Joey. We walked to the waterfall and explored
some other trails too. All the kids
really enjoyed themselves. Maggie
wanted to stay and explore/climb all over the waterfall. I assured her that we can go there all the
time whenever we want, so she agreed that we could continue on our hike.
It was the first time we let Teddy face outward in the Bjorn and he loved it! He was so happy!

Happenings
Summer is officially over and fall weather is rolling
in. We managed to squeeze in one last
day of swimming at aunt Kelly’s before the weather turned. We had such a great summer swimming over
there this year. Maggie learned to dive
to the bottom for toys and Tommy fell in love with the slide. Thanks for having us all the time Kelly!
Maggie and I did a kid’s workshop at Home Depot; it was a
lot of fun. Maggie already wants to go
back. We also celebrated Grandma Krumm’s
80th birthday. We had family
photos that day so the kids all looked so cute, including matching bow ties for
Tommy and Teddy. We finally have a
lawn! Susie has cut it twice now. All kids have been happy and healthy, and
mommies have been busy but enjoying every second with our little monsters.
2 week recap in photos:

Maggie building her Wizard of Oz birdhouse. I was actually impressed with her hammering skills. She put all but 2 nails in all by herself.
Painting her birdhouse
Putting the finishing touches on
How great do these two look?
We celebrated Ella's 5th birthday
Tommy ready for school pictures
Best big sister ever!
