Teddy is 8 Months!

Teddy turned 8 months on March 4th.  He is one little happy camper.  His first tooth is just starting to cut through on the bottom.  His main method of transportation these days is still rolling.  He rolls everywhere.  He is starting to get in the crawling position more and more but only rocks back and forth.  If there is something he wants; he gets out of the crawling position and rolls to it.  He has been eating puffs for a couple weeks and just recently started having Cheerios.  He still LOVES his milk, yogurt and oatmeal.  He WILL NOT eat anything else.  He will eat yogurt and oatmeal like a pro.  Twice a day, adult-sized portions.   But don’t you dare try to feed him baby food.  Run of the mill baby food purees make him gag.  You would think we were feeding him poison.  No matter what it is, peas, carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes he makes the worst faces and sounds.   He is too cute to torture.  At some point he may have to start eating some vegetables though.  He loves the water.  He would stay in his tub for an hour if we let him.  He adores Maggie and is very interested in Tommy—although Tommy doesn't reciprocate it as much as Maggie.  He is also fascinated with Joey and the Ipad.  He still sleeps with me and sleeps very well.  He is as cute as a button and mommies just adore him.  He is so easy going and happy all the time.  The smile on his face in the morning when hears our voices is absolutely priceless.  He will be in a dead sleep and as soon as he hears Susie or I talking in the morning his face lights up with a big grin even before his eyes are fully open.  He is the sweetest baby ever!  We love you Teddy Daniel!

The Usual

Here is a week cap of the past week or so.  Nothing too exciting or unusual.  Just a big photo dump.

Maggie took this photo of me and Teddy while we were waiting for swimming lessons to start.

I took this one of them

Saturday morning the kids made their own fort.

There was a bear loose in the house.

Maggie has continued gymnastics.  She is on the high bars here.

Working on the balance beam

Our little engineer.  She can build anything with Magna-tiles.

Teddy's hair is crazy.  It is getting so long on top.

Maggie and Tommy at Eagle's Nest.

Maggie was the perfect big sister.  There are lots of tunnels and she never lost sight of Tommy.

Teddy and I watched them from down below

He's starting to look chunky!

Tommy getting his handsome haircut

I am pretty sure he sits better and more patiently than some adults.

Maggie found a funny app on her LeapPad...I thought this was hilarious. It looks so real.  I think she really could be a cat... :)

The 4 bigger kids at Wisconsin Dells.  We rented a condo with the Nelson's at The Great Wolf.   It was a blast.  We had some very tired kids by the 3rd day.

Maggie said she was going to the bathroom...after about 5 minutes I went to check on her.  This is what I found.  :)

This little guy loves his baths!

Teddy graduated to Cheerios!

Our sleeping situation is starting to resemble a zoo.

Maggie and Tommy playing dress up

I am starting to see some resemblance between these two.  That's teddy on the left and Tommy on the right. Their nose, cheeks, and eye shape look a lot alike.

Tommy's teacher sent me this.  One morning he wasn't feeling well at school.

I love seeing these 3 sitting around playing together.

Maggie and I finally finished this puzzle.  It was our toughest one to-date.  It frustrated both of us.

Maggie was mad a Tommy about something.  She went upstairs to "take a break" from him and came down with this.  She told me it says, "Dear Tommy, Why Do You Be Mean".  If you look at the letters it is pretty good.  She is starting to sound out the first letters of things.

Maggie and Tommy tearing into their valentines from Grandma and Grandpa McNamara.

They were very excited!

Teddy loves the Wubble Bubble.

Our sleeping situation needs work.

Ski School

Back in December I was researching ski lessons and programs at all the local ski hills.  Most lessons/learn to ski programs are super expensive once you add in rental and lift tickets.  Luckily, I stumbled across a program called “Pre-school, Ski-School” offered at Trollhaugen. It is only for 4-5 year olds.  It might be the best value per dollar activity we have ever signed Maggie up for.  It was only $80 for 4 weeks, this included all rentals and lifts and 1.5 hours of instruction each session.  Part of the deal is one parent had to ski with their child and help out.  I was more than eager to volunteer for that.  It was a blast for both of us.  The progression over the 4 weeks was amazing.  She is like a real skier now.  She has done every run at Trollhaugen with exception of the black diamonds.  She even has mastered the chair lift and tow rope all by herself.  I can’t wait until Tommy is old enough to do the program.

Maggie and her completion certificate.  It's a picture of her and me.

The best part, free hot chocolate after every lesson.
