More Walking!

Ever since yesterday at Grandma and Grandpa McNamara's, I've taken my walking skills up a notch.  Mommies made several videos of me today taking way more steps than I even did last night at Grandma and Grandpa's.  They were smart this time.  They bought some Doritos for bait.  While I don't necessarily eat them, I do like to lick them and put them back in the bag, so we played that game for a long time.  Here's one of me walking down the hallway into the kitchen before feeding my Dorito to Joey.

On the move!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've started to take some more steps.  I've been standing for a while now and taking one or two steps, but lately my one or two steps has become three or four.  (and sometimes more!)  For some reason, I really like to walk at Grandma and Grandpa McNamara's house.  While mommies have been too slow to catch me doing this on video, I walked enough times last night that they actually had time to get Mommy's iPhone and make a few videos.

Last night, they used a bag of Doritos as bait for me.  It was getting close to dinner, and my cousin Lucy was eating Doritos.  I tried one, and I was hooked.  A little while later, I was sitting on Grandma's lap, and the Doritos were on the coffee table.  Out of nowhere, I got up from Grandma's lap and walked right over to the coffee table to help myself to a chip.  After that, they started using the Doritos as bait, and it worked!!  Here are the videos Mommy was able to capture....

This is the first one they took of my walking adventure...

This one is mommies' favorite.  Every time I would get to the coffee table, Grandma would grab me before I could get a chip and make me walk again.  After a while, Lucy felt bad for me and brought the chips to me.  As you can see, I get very excited when she brings the chips to me.  (and after she takes them away, I'm not too pleased...)

Here are some more steps....

Playing around

There's not much of a purpose to this post other than the fact that mommies have taken tons of pictures of me lately playing in the house.  (mostly playing with my best friend Joey)  The older I get, the bigger (and sillier) my personality becomes.  Mommies just have such a great time with me ... I really liven the place up!!

Enjoying a little naked time with my train.

One of the many silly Maggie faces.

More train time.  (this time I'm pushing my baby "Carol" around)

Joey time!

He cracks me up!

Sharing my afternoon snack with Joe Joe!

Hanging out in my book basket.

Not sure what I'm looking at in this picture, but if Joey is near, you can bet I'll be smiling!

Being a goof.

Checking on my babies in the shopping cart before I take them for a stroll.

Taking my babies for a walk.

My new favorite thing to do in the bath is to touch the water while it comes out of the faucet!

Go Packers!

Some Packer fans will wait most of their life to see the Pack in the Super Bowl, but at 13 months, I'll get to see my first Packer Super Bowl!  Mommies are so excited!!  For all but the last playoff game, we had Lance, Melissa, Aftin and Bailee over to watch the game.  (I was sick for the last game)  Us babies didn't pay much attention to the game, but we did have a good time playing!  Here are a couple pictures of us playing during the Packers/Falcons game!

This one makes Mommy laugh.  I look like a Giant!!

Far from the days when our parents were excited to get a picture of all of us laying on the floor next to each other.  We're a lot more mobile now!!

Mischief Maker

Around the time I turned one, mommies started to notice a much more mischievious side to me.  I'm no longer satisfied just pulling toys out of my baskets and tupperware out of the drawer - I need to get IN the baskets and drawers to get a closer look now.  In the last two weeks, they've caught me in my toy and book baskets, in the tupperware drawer and they even found me in the drawer below the oven.  (don't worry ... the oven wasn't on!)  I even crawled into Mommy's suitcase last week when she was packing for a trip.  Better keep a close eye on me - you never know what I'll get into next!!

It all started innocently - just checking out some of Joey's collars in the tupperware drawer....

Then Mommy caught me in the act!

Busted.

The next day, I paid a visit to the drawer under the oven.

And then hopped in Mommy's suitcase!!  (I just wanted her to take me with her!!)

Great accomplishments warrant a round of applause.

A few nights later, Mommies caught me standing on top of a case of Diet Mt. Dew.  I was Queen of the Mountain (Dew)!!

My First Case of Pink Eye!

Yesterday I had to go to the doctor due to a yucky case of pink eye.  Mommies noticed that my eyes looked a little funny on Saturday.  They had some “gunk” coming out of them, which they thought was strange.  They wanted to see if it changed on Sunday, which it did – it went away!  They thought we were in the clear, but the symptoms came back a little on Monday then came back really bad on Tuesday.  Mama took me to the clinic in New Richmond to have me checked out, and I have pink eye in both eyes.  I also had a fever and was just feeling yucky in general.  All things considered though, I’ve been in a really good mood and Mommy says I’ve been a real “trooper”.  Following my appointment, Mama took me to Family Fresh to pick up my prescription eye drops.  Given the fact that I’m not feeling good, Mama was a real sucker for me, and ended up buying me a balloon to try to cheer me up … it worked!    Here are some pictures of me on my way to the clinic as well as some after the clinic when I got my  new balloon.

Passed out on my way to the doctor.

A close up of my eye "gunk".

Hanging out with Grandpa McNamara before my doctor's appointment.

Getting a squeeze from Grandma before I go!

Post-appointment - happy with the balloon Mama picked out for me.

Even happier with the balloon when it's inflated.  It's Winnie the Pooh - one of my favorites!!!

My One Year Photo Shoot

On Saturday, December 18, Mommies took me to Kim Gould's to have my one year pictures and to also get some Christmas pictures done.  (since they hadn't sent out cards yet!)  Mommies still can't believe that I'm already one.  The time has gone by so quickly, and mommies have so many wonderful memories of me already.  They also can't believe how much I've changed over the course of a year.  Mommy realized she hasn't done a "what am I doing now?" list in a long time, so here's my one year old list.

Things I Do As A One Year-Old:

I’m a speed crawler

I can stand for short periods of time unassisted

I have 8 teeth (4 on top, 4 on the bottom with a molar coming in too…)

I babble a lot and speak a little.

I say:
  • Mama
  • No
  • Joe (this is my FAVORITE word by far … sounds more like “Toe”, and I say it whenever Joey walks in the room, and I also say it now whenever I see any dog)
  • What’s that? (I say this all the time too and point to things)
  • Uh oh (sounds more like “oooh oh”)
I sleep 12 hours each night and take two naps during the day (1-2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon)

I now drink regular, whole milk and LOVE it

I love all kinds of foods. Some of my favorites are:
  • Mandarin oranges
  • Cheese (any kind)
  • Meat – mostly chicken
  • Fruit Loops (sorry General Mills)
  • Juice boxes (when I’m allowed to have them!)
  • Sweets (just about any kind)
  • Pepperoni
  • Mama’s pancakes
  • Eggs
  • Green beans
  • Yogurt
I finally have some hair! Not a lot, but enough after being bald for so many months, every strand counts!

I love playing with toys, and I have a few favorites right now:
  • My Winnie the Pooh train from Aunt Kelly
  • My Cabbage Patch doll – Carol
  • Joey
  • Joey’s collars
  • Tupperware
  • Elmo
  • My shopping cart
  • My barn
  • And MANY more!!!
I am a VERY sweet, happy little girl who smiles a lot and has her mommies wrapped around her little finger!

It's a Dog's Life

For the past few months, I've had this bizarre obssession with Joey's collars.  Mommy thinks it maybe started because I always play in the tupperware drawer, which is where they also keep Joey's collars.  Once day while I was digging through the drawer (most likely pulling things out and making a huge mess), I grabbed one of Joey's many collars, and shortly after, I had it around my neck just like Joey.  Now it's actually more common to find me in the house with a collar on than without.  Mommies couldn't believe that they hadn't done a posting on this yet since it's such a huge part of my life.  Here are a few pictures of me enjoying several of Joey's collars...

Just hanigng out in my pj's .... with my toys .... and my collar.

Go Packers!

Snooping through the refrigerator, trying to find something to eat.  (while sporting SEVERAL collars in this one)

It's always best to read the labels, that's what mommy says.  I prefer to read mine while wearing three collars.

This Game Will Never Get Old!

I know it seems like I've already done this post before, but this is another day and involves WAY more belly laughs.  I still absolutely love playing with Joey.  (and mommies say he's a really good sport)  This is a video mommies made of me last Sunday playing with one of Joey's toys.  Playing with Joey makes me SO happy.  (and apparently, very excited based on my gestures)  You'll want volume for this one!

A Very Dairy Christmas

That Santa is something else.  Not only did he visit Mamma and Papa's and deliver presents to me there, but he also stopped by our house in Wisconsin while we were gone and dropped off a HUGE present for me.  Check her out!  She's my new best friend.  (next to Joey, who's still my number one)  Speaking of Joey, he's not a big fan of hers, but he's getting more used to our new "roommate" each day.  (pardon my hair in these pictures - I was having a bad "scalp" day, so mommies covered my head in lotion, then decided it was a good idea to give me a mohawk while they were out of it ... they're pretty weird)

Me and my new (stuffed) pet from Santa!

Feeding her a cookie.  :)

My Second Christmas

Yes, I realize I'm WAY behind on blogging.  Christmas was a long time ago, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about it.  So, where should I start?  Mommy says I should start with "I got spoiled".  I prefer to start with "I was a VERY good girl, and Santa rewarded me for all of my great behavior."  Mommies and I spent Christmas in Missouri with Mamma, Papa, Aunt Lissa, Uncle Kevin and Reagan.  We had such a great time!  We went to church on Christmas eve, and for a curious one year-old, I did pretty good!  After that, we went home and ate a delicious Christmas dinner that Mamma prepared.  We then went to sleep so Santa could come, and when we woke up, he had come!  I don't know how he knew I was at Mamma and Papa's, but Mommy said he's a very smart man, so I'll take her word for it.  I got lots of cool stuff that I've been playing with ever since including a shopping cart, puzzles, a stuffed animal and an Elmo medical kit from Mamma and Papa and a Billiboo (sp?) from Aunt Lissa, Uncle Kevin and Reagan.  Here are some pictures of my second Christmas.  (not that I remember my first Christmas...)

Me, Mamma, Papa and Reagan trying to get a cute picture before church.  I wasn't really cooperating.

Papa and Reagan.

Me and Reagan.  Neither of us were really cooperating for this one.  :)

Mommies trying to get a good shot of me before church.  They figured this present would distract me.  It did.

Me and Mamma!

Me and Pappa!  (couldn't get me to give up my Nuk in this one!)

Santa came!!

Me and Mamma on Christmas morning.

Pushing around my new shopping cart.  Thanks Mamma & Papa!

Reagan rocking out with one of the two guitars he received.  He specifically asked for two.  :)

Sampling one of the animal crackers Santa left in my stocking.

Chrismtas is exhausting.  I'm ready for a nap!

Post nap - digging back in to the presents!

Check out all of my loot!

Uncle Kevin and I had so much fun on the stairs!  He's hilarious!
