Stir Fry
We all like to get a little wild and crazy on our birthdays
and Tommy did just that on his 11 month birthday. How do you top off a great day? Stir fry sauce of course! This little/big guy was pretty proud of
himself!

Lake Superior Preview
Last weekend we headed up to Lake Superior/Bayfield area for
our annual “big” family trip. Everyone
was able to make it this year and all the kids were so well-behaved. It was hot and the water was cold—the perfect
combination. I was worried the water
would be too cold for Tommy but he was right there in it with the rest of the
kids. Maggie loves the sand, in fact I think
she was sitting or burying herself in the sand 95% of the time we were
there. It must be her way of letting us
know that we are robbing her of her childhood by not getting her a sandbox…. :) I actually brought the big camera for once but haven’t uploaded any pictures yet. I will add more later but for now here is what I had on my phone.
Lake Superior
Tommy and Evelyn having matching PJ's from Becky when she worked at Land's end
Tommy loves to play in the sand
He also likes to eat sand
The 3 youngest boys--grandpa must have a magnetic field because they are all drawn to him
Tommy always wants in on whatever Cal and Luca are doing--he ended up going down the slide just like the big boys.
Tommy loved splashing in the water
The waves actually started to get pretty big at one point
Ella and Maggie dancing together
How do you end a dance? With a hug of course.
Grandpa and Tommy
Tommy wanting to bust out of the house. Notice who is right there next to him? Luca. Luca always takes care of Tommy. It is so cute. He is always getting him toys, rubbing his back, etc.
Sunday morning we went to Bayfield for lunch and little shopping
Tommy's first watermelon
Took him a little bit to figure out how to eat it
Luckily he's a quick learner
Maggie is an old pro

2 Week Wrap Up
We have had a busy past couple weeks between new house stuff
and trying to squeeze every ounce out of the final weeks of summer. This is the photo version of what has been happening:
Gymnastics has continued
She still loves it
Here she is sitting next to her best friend Mira, doing some stretches--these two are pretty silly together
Last day of soccer
She looks so big
Hard to see but she just scored a goal
Last team huddle
Last team cheer, Maggie loves saying "1,2,3...Soccer Shots!"
They received a water bottle on the last day
And someone was really excited about it
One afternoon I took the kids over to grandma's house to play--and lucky enough the Wiemert cousins were there too!
Luca really likes Tommy. The little boys must have been told they couldn't play with the big girls
Maggie is still quite the Magna-Tile builder....
And Tommy is quite the Magna-Tile castle wrecker
Maggie builds something new nearly every night...
And Tommy attempts to destroy it every night. Maggie will start screaming as soon as she sees him coming. She knows there is no stopping him--he is like a bull in a china shop
We needed to make some returns at H&M, so the kids got to do a few rides at the mall again
We had an impromptu pool party at Aunt Kelly's house
Most of the bigger cousins
We tried to get them to jump at the same time--I would say their timing could use a little work
This group did much better
Tommy discovered how fun smashing his face against a glass door can be
We picked cousin Fiona up from daycare one day this week and met aunt Becky at Target for a giant shopping trip. Now that Becky works at Target there is incentive to going shopping with her...
Tommy is a wild man in the bath. Maggie doesn't even want to take a bath with him anymore. He splashes violently the whole time. When he needs to take a break from that he proceeds to stand up and sit down (fall down) over and over again...once again splashing Maggie in the face and giving mommies a heart attack. He sure does love the water though.
Sometimes Maggie feels left out when we take Tommy's monthly photos--she is still our first love.
Meanwhile construction on the house has been progressing
Seems like it is going up so fast, obviously once it gets to the framing/interior things will slow down a bit. We still have so many things decide on in the meantime. At least 2-3 nights a week we have been meeting with various people to pick things out, this has resulted in some pretty long days for both kids at school.
