Baptism!

Sunday was a big day for me - I was baptized at Christ Episcopal Church in Woodbury.  Mommies were a little worried about me since I had an ear infection, but I was really well-behaved and seemed to enjoy the day.  I wore a dress from my Great-Great Grandma that's 112 years-old.  Mommy, Mamma, Aunt Gigi, Great Great Grandma Sassman, Great Great Aunt Sassman, Kristin, and Katie all wore this dress when they were baptized.  I also wore the cross necklace that Mommy wore when she was baptized.  (from Great Great Grandma Morawitz)  I also wore the shoes that all of my McNamara cousins wore.  (Grace, Lucy, Lauren and Ella)  After the ceremony, everyone came over to our house for a party.  Mommies and Grandma and Aunt Gigi made some delicious food for us, and I even got to try lasagna for the first time.  (I loved it!)  My family was so genergous throughout the entire process, and they gave me some wonderful gifts for me to remember the day.  Thank you everyone for being a part of it!

Opening presents.  This was a beautiful frame that Aunt Jessie and Uncle Dan gave me.  I received so many thoughtful presents to remember my big day!

It's a Great, Big World Out There!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while.  I've just been SO busy lately - moving all around!  Now that I can crawl, I never stay in one place for long.  (so, it's hard to get me to sit in front of the computer and write my blog, but I promise to make more of an effort in the future!)  :)  There are so many areas of the house that I've never explored before.  Mommies are having to baby proof like crazy as they discover more and more things that aren't exactly "baby friendly" as they watch me roam throughout the house!  So far, my favorite discovery is probably the tupperware drawer.  I have no idea what those things are for, but they sure are fun to play with!  Her are some pics of me on the move...

Sometimes I trade crawling for standing...

Under the bridge!

I've also mastered the skill of going from crawling/rolling to sitting!

Crawling through my tunnel that Mama bought me when Mommy was out of town last week.

Last week, I crawled over to the patio door to have a visit with our cat, Philip.

Food Frenzy!

The last few weeks have been a food frenzy at the McNamara household!!  Mommies have started to introduce all kinds of solid foods to me!  For documentation purposes, Mommy thought I should list some of the solids I've eaten so far...

Peaches
Bananas
Yogurt
Eggs
Cottage Cheese
Hamburger
Sloppy Joe
Grilled Cheese
Lasagna
Pasta
Rice
Cheese
Cheerios
Gerbers snacks (lots of them)
Saltines (just when I was having tummy problems!)

I'm sure there are many more, but mommy and I can't remember.  Here are a few pictures of me enjoying the Food Frenzy!

My first taste of solid bananas.  Difficult to grab, but so tasty!

Enjoying some peaches!

Water ... I obviously didn't like that sip.  :)

Yogurt!  This might be my new favorite.  (it's Yoplait, of course)  :)

My first bites of hamburger.

Eggs are another favorite.  In fact, I liked them so much, I decided to put them in my ears!

Lasagna!  This was a BIG treat.  Mama says Mommy makes the best lasagna!

It's Official - I'm Mobile!!

For the last few weeks, mommies have been working with me on my crawling.  I'm finally starting to get it.  While it's not an official crawl, I'm starting to master the crawl/scoot to get to things I want.  Now that I'm on the move, mommies are starting to wonder why they ever hoped for this.  I'm a lot harder to keep track of now!!  Here's a video mommy made of me a few days ago - using her cell phone as bait.  :)

Sunday Funday at Cedar Lake!

On Sunday, it was HOT HOT HOT outside, so mommies decided to take the boat out to Cedar Lake to cool off a little.  Grandma and Grandpa had Leyton and Lauren for the day, so they came too!

We had so much fun.  Cedar Lake has a great sand bar where the water's really shallow, so it's perfect for kids.  Once we were done with the sand bar, Leyton and Lauren both took turns tubing with Grandpa.

Overall it was a great day, and it was probably the most I've ever enjoyed being in the water.  (probably because it was 90 degrees out!!)

Playing with Grandma in the water!

Grandma, Grandpa and three of their babies.  (and what used to be my mommies' baby in the background - our boat!)

Grandpa and Leyton tubing - I can't wait to go when I'm a little older!

Grandpa and Lauren tubing.

Me, Lauren and Leyton sitting in the boat together.  After many attempts at getting all of us to look at the same time, Mama called it quits.  :)

This is an older pictures that mommies forgot to post - it's a picture of me and all of the McNamara cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house from a few weeks ago during Leyton's birthday party.  I can't believe they managed to get all of us to look!

Having Fun Eating & Playing with Cottage Cheese!

Now that I'm almost 8 months old (tomorrow!), Mommies decided to let me try a few new foods.  First up?  Cottage cheese!  It is SO tasty!!  Every once in a while, I'll make a weird face (mommy thinks because of the texture), but overall, I really enjoy eating it.  On Monday night, Mama took it one step further and let me feed the cottage cheese to myself!  I'm not sure how much made it to my mouth, but it sure was fun to play with!  After I was done, Mommy went to put my PJ's on and found cottage cheese in my hair, my ears and all over my arms and legs.  I guess maybe I should only get to feed myself on bath nights!

First bite down the hatch!

Feeding myself - one handful at a time!

It's so squishy in my hands!  (and it mixes really well with my Cheerios!)

All done!  So yummy!

Kneeling, Standing and Goofing Around!

Lately I've found a lot more positions beyond just sitting and laying on my back when I'm playing.  My two favorites are probably being on my knees and being in the crawling position.  (and yes, I do move now in the crawling position too - that will be the subject of a separate posting!!)

My music table is so much more fun now that I can reach everything, and I love opening and shutting the book on it.  I could do that for hours.  (not sure if mommies would love listening to the music it plays for hours though...)  :)  Here are a few pics of my new stances!

Standing at my music table!  This is so much fun!!

I'm kneeling in this one. I can get to my knees without any help!

There's also this little compartment on the music table that's really fun to play with!

On Saturday morning, Mommy let me roll/crawl/scoot wherever I wanted to go.  I chose to play hide & seek behind the curtains!

Can I help you?

This is what I was doing when mommies came to get me after my Sunday morning nap!!

Easy with the flash!  I'm just waking up!!
