Spring 2014 Swimming Lessons

Spring swimming lessons at Foss just wrapped up.  I am happy to report both kids passed their level and had a great time.  Tommy will be taking the summer off and Maggie’s summer session just started this week.  Maggie’s new accomplishment is swimming under water and diving to the bottom to get rings in the shallow end.  Here are some pictures from the last week of class.

Maggie was so proud.  She had lessons twice a week so she got two certificates

2 Week Round Up

The last few weeks have been eventful.  We had a couple emergency/Urgency trips, picnics at the park, and our final grade finally got done.  Here is a random sampling of pictures from the past few weeks.

Maggie had her first pedicure

Urgency room trip for breathing treatment and steroids.  She was having trouble breathing.

The Urgency room is like a hotel, doesn't even feel like a doctors office until you get the bill.

Maggie got a new bike helmet.  She was so excited she insisted on wearing it on all our errands that day.

Grandma and Grandpa McNamara bought a slackline for the kids (and adults :) )

Tommy wanted to try really bad...maybe next year

Maggie loved it.
The kids were very excited the day the bulldozer got dropped off

And then passed out.

Visitors

We had some very special visitors come stay with us last week.  Grandma Morawitz, Aunt Susan (Gigi as the kids call her) and cousin Katie came from Missouri for Maggie’s dance recital.  Maggie loves Katie to pieces.  I am pretty sure she wore Katie out.  She wants to be with her and doing stuff with her 24-7.  Katie is a great helper with both kids.  She became a master at making Tommy’s bottles while she was here.  Tommy was thrilled to have two people willing to read him book after book.  We had several outings and as a special treat Maggie and Katie got to go with the Grandma’s to MOA all day Sunday.  Thanks for coming!  We had a blast.

Memorial Day 2014

We took a few days off of work and started our Memorial weekend early.  We stopped in Des Moines at a hotel that had a little water park inside of it.  Maggie has been obsessed with water parks ever since the trip to the Dells so we thought this would be a good way to break up the 10 hour drive to Missouri.  Maggie loved the water park, although it was pretty dinky compared to the Dells.  Thursday morning we got up and drove the rest of the way to the Lake of the Ozarks and stayed at Grandma Morawitz’s house.  It was lovely weather and the kids got to swim, ride jet skis, play with cousins, etc.. We enjoyed great company and a relaxing weekend.  It was so nice to see all of our family in Missouri.

Tommy loved the small water slide at the hotel.  He was mastered doing slides all by himself

Both kids did really well in the car.  On the way home we drove straight through--10 hours with a couple bathroom/gas stops.

They played "blanket head" a lot.  They are so silly together.
