Modified Tummy Time

The week before I was born, my mommies went to a baby class.  While they didn't necessarily retain everything the teacher told them, they did remember that she mentioned the fact that tummy time doesn't always have to require laying flat on my belly.  You can also use pillows, boppy pillows, etc to prop up the baby.  So, mama decided to give it a try with me.  Look how strong I am!
Starting to lift the head up.  This pillow tastes delicious!

So strong!!

This is just exhausting.

Strong baby!

Striking a strong tummy time pose for the camera.

So big!!

Mommy decided to take a few pictures of me on Saturday morning before coffee looking like such a big girl sitting up all by myself in the big chair.

My right hand sort of looks like I'm flashing a gang sign.  Don't worry.  I'm not.

Already ready for the photo shoot to be over, and we're just getting started!

Do I get a say in this??

A shot of the whole chair to put in perspective my actual size.  :)

This is the chair Grandma Morawitz liked to sit in when she was here for Christmas.  I'm just keeping it warm for her arrival next week!

Mommy loves this one.  Look!  I'm wearing shoes!

Close up.

I seem to have discovered my tongue in the last week or so.  I stick it out all the time now!

Me and my (puppy) Brother Joey!

For the first few weeks of my life, my puppy brother Joey wasn't too crazy about me.  In fact, he seemed to not want anything to do with me.

Recently, he's starting to come around and is spending more time around me.

I can't wait to chase him around and pull his hair, tails, ears, etc.  I'm sure he's equally as excited.  :)

Joey's finally posing in this one.

First time in my big girl bath!!

After four weeks of bathing me in the pink bucket provided by the hospital, my mommies decided I was big enough to try out my big girl tub!  (okay, I guess the true "big girl" tub would be the actual bath tub, but this is "big girl" to me!)  Considering how well (insert sarcastic smile here) my first few baths went in the hospital bucket, my mommies were kicking themselves for not having used the tub sooner!  I was SUCH a good girl the entire time.  I was hesitant, but not angry.  My mommy likes hesitant.  She says it's a lot quieter than angry.

Just getting started.  You can tell by the wrinkles in my forehead that I'm not happy, but you can also tell by the fact that I'm not screaming, that I'm not mad either!  :)

This is a little scary, but not bad.

It all happened so fast ... I'm still trying to prcecss what's going on.

This is actual kind of nice - I could get used to this.  Check out my tummy!  (this was after a meal, of course)  :)

Unlike in the hospital bucket, the anger and screaming this time didn't occur until AFTER the bath.  It's the middle of January.  I'm FREEZING!

No lotion!  Just put something warm on me!!  (after this one, mommy felt so bad that she bundled me up in the warmest fleece pajamas I own!)

Mommies got a new camera!

After a lot of searching for a great camera and the best price, my mommies finally got a new camera this week!  They wanted to make sure to get one that takes pictures really fast since I tend to move and change my expressions pretty quickly.

They're still learning how to use it, but they've been practicing all week by taking pictures of me constantly.  Below are a few of the shots on our new camera!

I said "food", not "photo"!  Please, stop taking pictures.

So big!  (and mommy loves how I'm showing my "frog legs" in my frog pajamas!)

VERY quick photo shoot between diaper changes/feedings.  Mommy had to be fast on this one.  I wasn't pleased with her need to interupt my breakfast!

One more picture from my photoshoot.

Sticking out my tongue at the camera.

There's not much going on here, but ... LOOK AT ME!

I know my posts usually have a theme or purpose, but not this one!  Mommy just wanted to share a few pictures of me from the past couple of weeks!

Our good friend Shelley came to see me on New Year's Eve!

Me being camera shy.

Mommy trying to get a shot of me sitting like a big girl.  Key word:  "trying".

Doing one of my favorite activities ... sleeping!

More sleeping!

Trying to catch a smile? You snooze you lose.

While I'm still a bit too young to smile yet, I do smile/smirk a lot.  Usually it's right as I'm falling asleep.  My mommies were desperately trying to capture one of my smiles the other night, but they were a bit too slow.  They came close but never captured the full smile.

Very close on this one.  Just caught me at the end of the smile.

Too slow, too slow!

Close, but no cigar.

Mama's smiling in this one - does that count?  :)

Tummy Time!!

My mommies and I have been doing tummy time almost every day since I was born.  I'm getting really good at it!  I don't cry, although I occasionally yell.  Mommy thinks the yelling is kind of like when those weird guys in the gym lift way too much and have to yell when they're lifting to make sure everyone in the gym looks at them and sees how much they're lifting.  I'm not lifting weights, but I am lifting my head, and boy is that a work out!!

Getting ready to turn my head - do you think mama could have pulled up my pants a little higher?

Head turned!  Such a strong girl!

Taking a much-needed breather.

Working on another rotation!

Squeezing in some tummy time before bed!  (again, there's no audio in this picture, but I'm yelling through this rotation)  :)

Rotated ... now it's time for bed!

Laundry Time!

Do you think my mommies might be a little sleep deprived?  They were emptying the dryer to fold the clean clothes and this is what they found!!

DISCLAIMER:  These pictures were taken for fun.  My mommies didn't really put me in the dryer. :)

That's the cutest load of laundry I've ever seen!

Based on my face, I'm thinking the "load" of laundry isn't the only "load" in this basket.  :)

Confused, but I'll play along...

Cribs!

No, this is not a posting about MTV Cribs.  :)  My mommies have been working with me the last week or so to transition me to my crib.  So far we're getting in about an hour a day in the crib, which is a good start.  Here are a few shots of me sleeping in my crib.  (if my mommies were smart, they'd let me sleep instead of taking pictures of me ... pretty sure I woke up shortly after this photo shoot!)
Catching some z's in my crib.

Close-up of my face.  My mommies love when I pucker my lips while I sleep!  So kissable!

Snoozing while listening to my sleep machine...

Bundled up in my sleep sack.

Mama trying to get a shot that shows how little I am in comparison to my crib.  :)

Sleeping in a place that makes me much happier - mommies' bed!

Sound asleep.

This is the good life.
