Happenings

Summer is officially over and fall weather is rolling in.  We managed to squeeze in one last day of swimming at aunt Kelly’s before the weather turned.  We had such a great summer swimming over there this year.  Maggie learned to dive to the bottom for toys and Tommy fell in love with the slide.  Thanks for having us all the time Kelly!

Maggie and I did a kid’s workshop at Home Depot; it was a lot of fun.  Maggie already wants to go back.  We also celebrated Grandma Krumm’s 80th birthday.  We had family photos that day so the kids all looked so cute, including matching bow ties for Tommy and Teddy.  We finally have a lawn!  Susie has cut it twice now.  All kids have been happy and healthy, and mommies have been busy but enjoying every second with our little monsters.

2 week recap in photos:

Maggie building her Wizard of Oz birdhouse.  I was actually impressed with her hammering skills. She put all but 2 nails in all by herself.

How great do these two look?

When we built our big walk-in shower we never knew it would get used as much as it does.

The kids usually pick showers over baths every time.

Maggie passed Level 3!

And quickly began Level 4 last week.

Teddy's newborn hat still fits :)

Maggie is an Owl

Maggie is now an Owl!  The Owl classroom is the last room at Trinity..next stop kindergarten.   The Owl room is equivalent to 4k…only Hudson doesn't offer 4k through the schools so parents are stuck paying for it.  Maggie is very excited to be an Owl.  It means you are the oldest kids at Trinity Family Center.  This will be her last year there, I already get sentimental thinking about her not going there with her brothers next year…I can only imagine how emotional I will really be next year.   In the meantime, we are going to soak up every minute with our big Owl.  We are so proud of Maggie.  She really is a great kid with an even bigger heart.  Mommies love Maggie to the moon and back.

Maggie recently started gymnastics again, so it was fresh on her mind when I asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up.

Such a pretty little girl with a great smile

She was so proud, her brothers were pretty excited too!

Teddy is 2 Months!

Teddy turned 2 months on September 4th.   He continues to be wonderful.  He would be pleased as pie if I would just sit on the couch and hold him all day as long as I let him snack every once in awhile.  His 2 month appointment isn't for another week so I don’t know his stats yet.

Here is a snapshot of what Teddy has been up to:
-Teddy is super alert.  His big eyes are always looking around.  His eyes are beautiful.  We still aren't sure if they are going to be brown or blue, they continually change.

-Teddy gets up twice a night.  He goes to sleep around 8, wakes at midnight and again at 4:00 AM.  He is always super happy in the middle of the night.  Wakes up so happy.  Smiles the entire time I change his diaper at midnight and 4.

-Teddy is really starting to enjoy bath time.  Just loves to sink down in the warm tub. I have to watch him very carefully because he loves to wiggle his way further and further into the water.  He is all smiles in the bath until it is time to get out.

-Teddy is still spitting up a bit but not as bad as it was a couple weeks ago.

-Teddy’s worst time of day is still about 4-8 PM at night.  He’s not entirely awful, as long as you don’t set him down.  Makes dinner and bath time for the kids challenging.

-Teddy has adult-sized gas.  It's loud.  Makes the whole family laugh.

-Teddy still has a beautiful head of hair that stands up on end.

-Teddy is starting to coo a lot more and it is the sweetest sound in the whole world.
-Teddy loves when mommy Susie gets home from work and holds him.

-Teddy is still adored by Maggie and Tommy.
-Teddy is smiling more and more each day and it is becoming easier to get them out of him.  Of course, when it came time for his 2 month pictures he wouldn't give one up.

Labor Day

We headed down to the Lake of Ozarks for Labor Day.  We broke up the drive down by stopping in Kansas City.  We stayed 2 nights at Anne and Jeff’s house (Anne is Susie’s sorority sister).  We had a blast visiting and swimming with everyone.  We got to hang out with Carolyn, Mary, Ann, Jeff, Kandace and Brett, Lucy and Klaire.  We then headed to the Lake to stay at Grandma Morawitz’s for the remainder of the trip.  All the kids were super well behaved and we had a great visit.  Unfortunately we were so busy having fun and hanging out I didn't take many photos of any portion of the trip.  Here's the few I have:

Teddy just waking up

All the kids were super excited to meet Teddy.  Somehow I only have pictures of  sweet Jake holding him.

Jake helping Tommy jump on the rocket.  Tommy is still perfecting his jumping skills.

Tommy was pretty proud when the rocket went about 2 feet in the air.

Somebody has always been happy and is now starting to get fat...

Double noodles for Tom

Maggie loved swimming in the lake.  She was finally brave enough to do the slide and jump of the docks.

Maggie and Charlie swimming.  They had a blast together.

Maggie and Susie tubing behind the jet ski.  Maggie was not a fan.  Maybe next year she will enjoy it more.

Jake and Tommy playing in the rock pit.  Jake was so sweet with Tommy.

At the end of the day, these two are still best friends.

Kristin still has magic baby skills.  Teddy and her had a special bond.
