Strawberries

We have two (3 if you count Susie) Strawberry Monsters in our house.  Strawberries or strawbees as Tommy calls them have been his favorite food since he started solids basically.  His diet consists of strawberries and whole milk.  That is literally all that he eats most days.  He is the pickiest eater ever…not sure where he gets that—I have such a well-rounded palate or not. :)  Anyhow, he asks for strawberries with every meal and once Maggie hears him asking for them pretty soon she wants them too.  These two can eat the entire container in one sitting…and then usually ask for more.  No big deal in the summer, but now we are approaching the time of year when they will be $7/container.  I was out plowing the driveway Sunday.  Maggie and Tommy were out helping me but got cold and headed inside.  Susie and Teddy were at the store.  When I finished and headed inside this is what I found:

Apparently they wanted a snack.  Maggie isn't allowed to use a knife so she taught Tommy how to eat them and leave the tops (We usually cut them up for him still). 

When I saw the pile on the floor and their strawberry-stained faces, Maggie quickly told me how proud I should be of her and Tommy because they ate them all the way up to the tops and didn't waste any.  Then they asked if we had anymore….

Teddy’s 4 Month Well Child Exam

Teddy had his 4 month office visit on 11/13.  It turns out he is a little peanut, with a big melon.  He is healthy, happy and full of smiles.  I don’t have much for pictures but it is safe to say he enjoyed most of the appointment, except for the shots at the end.              

Here are Teddy’s 4 Month Stats:

Weight:  14lb 13oz (29%)

Height:  24 ¾” (22%)

Weight for length: (48%)

Head Circumference: 17.2 cm (93%)

He looks so big, I am not sure how he tricked the scale. :)

Teddy did not like this part.  He was pinching Dr. Montague and sucking his thumb all at the same time.

New Routine

I started back at work full time October 27^th.  Hence, the lack of blog activity.  I had been working crazy hours (like 3AM) up until I had Teddy.   This left Susie to get both kids off to school (daycare) in the morning.  Now that we have 3 little buggers under 5 to get ready in the morning I rearranged my schedule so I could be around to help get everyone out the door.  It also makes nursing/pumping a little bit easier.  I  love being able to be home with the kids when they wake up.  Some days are more pleasant than others but I think we are all loving the new routine.

Sending Teddy to daycare was hard the first few days but I am back in work mode now and everything feels normal.  I still miss him and the other two a lot throughout the day but I know they really like going to Trinity.  Teddy is already a favorite in the bunny room and gets extra cuddles!  And I know all the other teachers sneak in and hold him every chance they get.  I will say, Teddy was the hardest one yet to send to daycare.  He was just so sweet, happy, nearly perfect, everyday of my maternity leave.  I get sad thinking about the all the good days we had together at home, when our only goals for the day were to go running, nurse, cuddle and watch the Today Show.  :)

The past few weeks have been a blur as we settle back into the “both parents working" routine.  Here’s what we have been up to:

Tommy fell asleep eating lunch at school

Maggie started "real, big girl" gymnastics. She loves it and practices her bridges, cartwheels, and hand-stands almost every night.

Tommy had 3 hand-me-down Halloween costumes.  He couldn't decide between the 3 and kept changing his mind right up until it was time to go trick-or-treating.

We did the New Richmond business tricking-or-treating before heading out in Hudson

Tommy fell asleep on the way back to our house.  He was one tired elephant.

Maggie, Teddy and I went out to grandma and grandpa's.  Grandpa did his best to scare all the grandkids.  He made two separate appearances this year.

Maggie is usually Elsa.  Tommy always says he is "Anna" no matter what outfit he is wearing.  He loves Anna.  It is the only Disney princess he ever talks about.  

I told him he was Tinkerbell and he corrected me, "No, I Anna" :)

Teddy is 4 months!

Teddy celebrated his 4 month birthday last week!  He is as cute and happy as ever!  His big milestone this month: he started giggling and laughing!  It is the sweetest sound in the world.  He is also so very close to rolling over but can’t quite do it on his own.  In his defense, we hardly ever practice it with him.  His days pretty much consistent of eating, smiling and sleeping.  He is so stinking cute!  We love you little buddy!
