My Room Is Ready! Does That Mean I'm Ready Too?

Hi! This is Tommy! This is my first blog update. I'm still in Mommy's tummy, but I'm thinking about coming out soon! The one thing I asked mommies to have ready for me is my room, and mommies took care of it! I don't know about you, but I think they did a really nice job! They did their job, now I suppose it's about time I do mine! See you soon? :)

First Day of Dance!

Yesterday I took my first dance class at Helmer Dance Studios in Hudson!  To say I enjoyed it would be the understatement of the century!!  I LOVED it.  At one point, I went up to my teacher and told her something that Mommy Tina couldn't hear.  She figured out what I was saying when the teacher responded, "I'm glad your heart is happy!"  I love the leotard, the tights, the shoes, the props, the mirrors ... I love it all!  Mommies thought I might like it, but they didn't know how much.  They're pretty sure the fact that I've attended Grace & Lucy's recitals the last two years might have fueled the fire.  :)

Mommy took this picture of me after class.  I was all smiles!  :)

Grandma and Papa's Last Visit Before My Brother Arrives!

Grandma and Papa Morawitz decided to drive up this past weekend for one last visit before my baby brother arrives.  They picked a great weekend with wonderful weather!  On Friday, we all went out to eat at Pier 500, then Saturday morning, we played on my playset for a LONG time.  I made Grandma and Papa play all of the games that mommies normally have to play.  :)  On Saturday night, we went out to do some shopping, then went to eat and watch the Mizzou game.  Unfortunately, the two games we were most interested in (Mizzou and the Packers) didn't go too well.  Luckily, the fun we had the rest of the weekend more than made up for those losses!

Sunday morning we hopped in the car and headed to Fawn Doe Rosa park in St. Croix Falls.  I hadn't been there since last fall, and I was so excited to run around and feed all of the animals.  We saw all sorts of different animals including a mountain lion, many deer, lots of geese, goats, alpacas, ponies, a bear, a moose, and many more.  My favorite animal though was this beautiful white bunny.  For some reason, the bunny ran away whenever I got near her, but that didn't stop me from chasing her around.  Eventually she did get close enough for me to drop a carrot for her to eat.  :)  Mommies are hoping to make one more trip back there this fall before it closes (and before baby brother gets here).  It's such a fun, unique place!

Playing in my tire swing.

Grandma pushing me in the swing.  (I insisted on wearing my sunglasses since everyone else had theirs on)  :)

All smiles after Mommy gave me an "under dog".

Say "ahhh" deer.

Feeding one of the babies.

Hi duck!

Checking out the otter with Grandma.

Pleased with myself after I successfully gave the white bunny a carrot.  As a side note - check out my cute new Packers jersey!

Posing with Grandma and Papa.  Not sure if you can see the moose in the background.

One more shot.

Throwing some corn to the geese.

Up close and personal with one of the many friendly deer walking around.

The goats REALLY liked Papa.  :)

All tuckered out after a really fun morning!  (this little adventure was followed by a 4 hour nap!)  :)

The Great Minnesota Get Together

On Sunday mommies took me to the “Great Minnesota Get Together”.  (aka the State Fair)  It was a HOT day and Mommy Tina is very pregnant, but they promised, so off we went to tackle the fair!  As soon as we got there, we headed straight for the Kiddie Midway.  That place is kid heaven!  So many rides that are just for people my size!  I tried out several of them including the dinosaur ride, the airplanes “hair panes” and I even got to ride in a pink tractor.  (kind of like Papa McNamara’s, but his are green, not pink!)  After the rides, we walked around and sampled some food before hitting up the games to try to win me another Bobby.  (Bobby was the huge giraffe Mommy Susie won for me last year)  Unfortunately, it wasn’t in the cards for us to win big this year, but I did win at a few small games and came home with a pretty cool plastic sword and a ball that I’ve been playing with non-stop.  All in all, it was another successful trip to the fair!  We have one more fair to do in a couple of weeks, then we’re done with fairs until next summer.

Riding in the hair pane.

There was a lever on the dinosaur that I insisted on holding the entire time.  :)

Taking this dinosaur ride very seriously.

Driving the pink tractor.

Going fishing.

Enjoying a State Fair staple - a Sweet Martha's cookie.

Mmm...  corndog!  Mommies thought it was hilarious how I ate it like corn on the cob.

Making a new friend at the butterfly exhibit.

I guess I had a little too much fun.

Grace and Lucy's Pool Party

Last weekend was Grace and Lucy's pool party to celebrate their 8th and 6th birthdays!  All of the cousins were there and we had SUCH a great time.  Mommies can't believe how much of a "fish" I've become this summer.  The other funny thing that happened was that it seems that Ella and I (after nearly 3 years of being on this earth) seemed to finally discover each other!  We usually don't play much together, and we both tend to play with the older kids, but we were inseparable on Sunday and spent most of the afternoon together.  At one point, we were floating in the pool spitting water at each other's faces and laughing like crazy.  Pretty gross but also hilarious all at the same time.

The food was great, the cake (and dirt and worms treat!) was delicious, and Grace and Lucy got some really cool gifts.  I was lucky enough to spend Monday morning with them since my school was closed, so I had the chance to play with a lot of them too!
Playing with the pool toys.

Fun with the Nelsons

We've had all sorts of fun over the past few weeks, so Mommy decided we should lump a few of them into one post.  With summer quickly coming to an end, we've been making sure to pack in as much summer fun as possible including hanging out with the Nelson family.  A couple of weeks ago, the Nelsons came over for dinner, and us girls had a blast playing on the play set outside, and eventually playing dress-up inside.  We also got together that same weekend and went for a bike ride and spent some time at a park.  The following weekend both families loaded up the boats and we spent one night camping on the St. Croix river.  It was SUCH a fun time.  So much fun in fact that Mommy failed to take 1 single picture!  Luckily, Melissa took some, so Mommy "borrowed" some pics from her blog!  All 7 of us (and 2 dogs) shared one big tent.  It was a beautiful weekend, despite a  few storms that blew through late Sat night.  On Sunday morning we got up and did some tubing and swimming before heading home.  I can't wait to go again next year!

Mommy gets an "F" for taking pictures recently, but here are a few...  :)

Trying on a few of my dress-up dresses!

Melissa brought a cake over, so I insisted we put candles on it and sing happy birthday.  :)

Us girls on our cots watching a movie.

Getting Ready to be a Big Sister

With my brother's due date a few short weeks away, I've been working really hard at some "big sisiter stuff" to get ready for him.  The first step was to finish getting his room ready.  Mommies did most of the work, but I have helped in a couple of ways.  First, I helped paint some of the letters that Mommies hung above his crib.  They let me paint one of the letters, then gave me a piece of paper to work on since my painting was getting a little wild.  :)  They also catch me in his room occasionally with a Clorox wipe wiping down his furniture getting it all cleaned up for him.  Mommy Susie's not sure where I got my knack for cleaning.  :)

Painting his "T".

Working on a separate art project while Mommy Tina finished his letters.

Stopping mid-masterpiece to look up at the camera.

I've also started to practice some of my "big sister" duties on Joey and many of my dolls.  I carry my dolls around and call several of them by my brother's name, and I bounce them and "shush" them when I think they're sad and need to be comforted.  Last weekend, Mommies found me on their bed with Joey doing some more big sister practice.  I had him covered up in a blanket and was reading to him and rubbing his back.

Putting Joey down for his nap.
