Finding Bliss in the Bouncy!

Up until recently, I had very little interest in my bouncy seat.  Lately though, it's become my favorite place to hang out in the afternoons/evenings.  There's a bar with toys on it that's supposed to go across the front, but I haven't shown much interest in that and I prefer to be able to look around, so mommies took it off for the time being.  Seems like the majority of my pictures lately are of me in the bouncy - check them out!

Relaxing in the bouncy on Friday afternoon...

Taking a quick snooze while mommies got ready before coffee at the Bean Bag.  How do you like my Valentine's Day shirt?

Mommy trying a bow on me for the first time.  Mommy figured I would hate this since I don't like when I have to wear hats, but I didn't mind the bow!

Two Month Check Up

I had my two month check-up yesterday with Dr. Montague.  Everything looks great and other than the shot portion of the appointment, I was a really good baby!  I had to get 6 vaccinations!  3 shots (one shot had 3 vaccinations in it) and one oral vaccination.  Luckily, the nurse who gives the shots was REALLY quick, so I screamed for the first one, but she had the other two done in about 5-10 seconds.  My mommies couldn't believe how quick she was!

After the shots, I had myself so worked up, that I became very sleepy.  I slept the whole way home, and then I was up for an hour or two, and was back asleep from 6pm until 2am.  Luckily, I'm fine now and back to updating my blog in the middle of the night.  ;)

Here are my stats:

Weight:  12lb, 4oz (80th percentile)
Height:  22.75" (60th percentile)
Head:  15" (50th percentile)

Sitting patiently on mommy's lap while my mommies talked to the doctor and asked her about a million questions.

Close up.  I was SO good!!

Side view.  This was all pre-shots, of course.

By the time they were ready to give me my shots, I was already starting to get a little fussy.  This was my face after she just put the rubbing alcohol on my legs prior to the shots.  Mommy knew it was all downhill from here.

One shot down ... now I'm mad. I went about 10 seconds working up such a big scream that I forgot to breath.  Mommy said she's never seen my face so red!

This is awful.

This is not okay.  I kind of wish mama had caught mommy's face in this one.  She looked like a deer in the headlights.

Post-shots.  Mommy's trying to calm me down.

Starting to calm down, but still a little upset.  At least it's all over for now...

I'm a Keeper!

Mama was digging through my onesies today (after a blow-out) :), and she stumbled across this one that I haven't worn yet.
The day before my mommies found out that mommy was pregnant, mommy had just come home from a work trip.  As a surprise, mama bought mommy a few onesies from Gap.  (they thought/hoped I was in her belly, but they didn't find out for sure until the next morning!)  Kind of jumping the gun, if you ask me, but I guess it all worked out!

Sooo, they thought my onesie was pretty cute, so they decided to take some pictures.  Shocking.  :)

First trip to Children's Hospital...

Last night I had my first trip to Children's Hospital.  Let me start this one out by saying - I'm fine.  Late yesterday afternoon, I started to get really fussy and mommy noticed I felt really warm.  I've also been coughing and sneezing more the past couple of days.  She took my temperature several times, and each time, it was 100.2.  She knew 100.3 was the magic number for going in to the doctor, but given the time of day, she went ahead and called just to see what the doctor suggested.  Given my age, the doctor suggested she take me to Children's Hospital.  (we wouldn't have been able to make it to our clinic before it closed)  She explained that I was probably fine, but with little ones like me, things can change quickly, so it was best to just have me checked out for peace of mind.

By the time we got to the hospital, my temperature had come down some, but they still wanted to look at me.  After waiting for a long time, we finally went back to our room.  Mommies had to put a hospital gown on me, which they thought was pretty funny.  It was a miniature, purple version of the gown mommy wore 8 weeks ago when I was born!

I wasn't too happy by the time the doctor came in.  In fact, I screamed so loud, she couldn't even listen to my lungs & heart.  (luckily someone else came in a little later when I was sleeping and was able to hear everything & I checked out great)  They think I probably just have a little upper respiratory infection and that it should pass in the next few days.

I was a little fussy when we got home last night, but I finally went to sleep at around 9:30 and slept this morning until 5:30!  I don't have a fever this morning, but I'm still coughing and my nose is still plugged up.  Mommy suctioned out my nose (which I hate), changed me and fed me, and now I'm going back to sleep.  (and so is she - despite my 8 hours of sleep, she spent a lot of that time worrying, so she's sleepy too!!)  Mama's been sick the last few days, and now mommy's starting to feel sick too.  Not a healthy time in the McNamara household!!

Mommies didn't bring their camera, but they did capture some shots of our hospital visit on mommy's camera phone.  They're ridiculous.

Getting angry while we wait.

Sound asleep after screaming at the doctor for five minutes straight.  :)

Case of the Mondays? Not me!!

After a good sleep last night, I woke up in a great mood today.  Mommy decided this was a good opportunity to try to catch one of my little grins on camera ... and she did!!  First smile caught on film.  Check it out!

Say CHEESE!

8 week photo shoot....

I turned 8 weeks on Friday.  Some of the things I do now that I'm 8 weeks old...

  • I stay awake for longer periods of time and am content while I'm awake.
  • I sleep for 6-7 hour stretches at night.
  • I smiled...  once.  On Thursday morning when mommy was getting ready to get up and feed me, she rolled over and said "Hi Princess" and I flashed her a big, gummy grin.  Haven't done one since...  :)
  • I'm getting really good control of my head.
  • I'm showing much more interest in toys - especially my rings. I like to hold them and put them in my mouth.
Here are some pictures of me at 8 weeks...

Visit With Lisa!

Mommy's friend Lisa from college came to visit me this week!  (and also to visit mommies, but mostly me!)  We had LOTS of fun.  Lisa spent a lot of time holding me and getting to know me, and while I slept, mommy and Lisa mostly sat around looking at old pictures from college and making fun of themselves.

On Thursday, we ventured out to Costco and Target, which was fun.  I was pretty loud in Target, so it was always easy to find me.  :)

On Friday, we went to Mall of America.  Mama and Lisa went on a roller coaster while mommy and I stayed behind.  We also did some shopping, which my mommies always love. After the mall, we went out to dinner at Nacho Mama's in Stillwater.  (mommies LOVE Nacho Mama's!)  I stayed awake the entire dinner but was happy the whole time - it was lots of fun.  On the drive home, I became a little fussy.  Mommy explained to Lisa that singing "Silent Night" calms me down, so mommies and Lisa all started singing Silent Night - first together, then in rounds.  I pretended to fall asleep just to get them to stop....

Thanks for visiting Lisa!  Come back again soon!!

Napping.

Hanging out with Lisa on Saturday morning before she left.

In my carseat, ready to head to lunch, then to the airport to drop off Lisa!  (I don't like hats, so mommy tried to put this one on me, and this is as far as I would let her pull it down.  It's not even covering my ears, so it kind of defeats the purpose!)
