Last Nice Weekend in the Summer = One Last Trip to the Lake!

Based on the weather forecast, we knew fall was coming, so we took advantage of one last nice summer weekend a few weeks ago to get in some boating and swimming time.  We went to Church Lake, which we hadn't been to this year.  It's nice because there's a beach area by the boat landing, so I just hung out there the whole time while mommies, Grandpa, Uncle Pat and Aunt Terri took turns skiing.  We sure are glad we went because a week later we were in the 50s!  See you next year, summer!!

Enjoying a refreshing beverage in the warm sun!

Being silly!

Cool shot of Grandpa skiing!

An Afternoon with the Nelsons

So, mommies were a little behind on uploading pictures from our camera, so these next few posts are from events that happened a few weeks ago, but hey, better late than never, right?!!

A few weeks ago, my friends Aftin and Bailee came over while Mama and Lance went for a bike ride.  They rode their bikes to Menomonie, so once Melissa got to our house, Mommy and Melissa headed to Menomonie to let us play at a park for a while, then we met up with Mama and Lance for dinner.  It was a fun night, despite some REALLY bad service at dinner!  :)

Attempting to greet Aftin with a kiss when she got to my house.

Cooking up some fun with Bailee.

A Little Bit of Babbling and a Little Bit of Talking

On Saturday while Mommy and I were in the car waiting for Mama to run into the grocery store, I was being silly in the backseat and making lots of noise.  Mommy thought it would be funny to make a video of my "babbles", but she then decided to have me practice a few words since I seemed pretty chatty!  I say quite a few words now, but Mommy was drawing a blank when she was trying to think about what to ask me to say.  Mommies' new favorite is "thank you"!  (and they'll always be suckers for "Mommy")

Miss Angela's Last Day at Trinity!

Today is Miss Angela's last day at Trinity.  For those of you who haven't heard me or mommies talking about Miss Angela, she is/was my favorite teacher at Trinity!  Before she was even my teacher, I was instantly drawn to her, and Mommies think she was the turning point for me for when I finally became comfortable at Trinity.  As soon as I moved up to the Duckling room in August, Miss Angela was my new teacher!  Unfortunately, she found another opportunity outside of Trinity.  Mommies are confident that I'll love my new teacher too since I really love going to school there and I love all of the teachers.  (I just need to find a new favorite now...)  :(

Playing with Dirty Nose

Yesterday at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Mama caught a video of me playing with one of their cats.  Some people call this cat Simba, my cousin Grace used to call it "Dirty Nose", so I'll go with Dirty Nose.  :)  I'm trying to pick the cat up and put him outside, but I'm not having much luck.  Mommies think the little noises I'm making are pretty funny too.  If you listen closely, you can also hear me say "kitty kitty" a few times.

Super Fun Afternoon with my Cousins!

On Saturday after swim lessons and coffee, mommies and I headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's to hang out with Leyton, Lauren, Ella and Cal.  We had SUCH a fun time.  The trampoline that Grandma and Grandpa bought has delivered endless entertainment for us kids!  (and I think maybe for the adults too...)  We had a blast jumping on the trampoline, and we also played with the slides and the toy 4 wheeler.  (the 4 wheeler doesn't work, but we figured out this weekend that if you just sucker an adult into it, they'll push you around on it for a while)  The weather was chilly that day, but we all stayed warm thanks to lots of jumping and running around!

Four of us cousins lined up on the 4 wheeler waiting for Mommy to give us a push!

Ready to go!!

Sorry - Mommy has a hard time rotating these pictures on the blog.  What you can see is Ella and I staring at something underneath the trampoline.  What you can't see is Grandpa hiding under the trampoline grabbing our feet!!

Cheese!  (Mommy said this picture makes her heart go pitter patter!!)

Another angle!  (they had to take advantage since we were being so cooperative!!)

Adding Cal to the picture!

Me and Cal showing our tummies!

Jumping with Aunt Becky.  Aunt Becky's a rockstar on the trampoline.  She even does flips, and mommies made a video of it!  (they haven't decided yet if that video will make it to the blog...)  :)

Leyton resting his head on my legs.  He's in the "egg" position which is a game the adults taught us.  (the "crack the egg" game ... we're all probably a bit too young for it, but the adults seem to love it!)

Me being cute!

My First Poop in the Potty!

Wednesday night was a BIG night in the McNamara household.  I pooped in the potty for the first time!  This story requires a little bit of background...

On Wednesday afternoon when we got home from daycare, I grabbed one of my Cabbage Patch dolls, took off her diaper, took her into the bathroom, set her on my potty and said "poo poo".  Mama thought that was interesting since I hadn't shown much interest in my potty up to that point.  (as a side note, I did move into the 2 year old room at school a couple of weeks ago, so there are a few older kids in my class who are currently potty training)

Wednesday night after dinner, Mama took me into the bathroom to wash my hands.  Out of curiousity, she took off my diaper and set me on the big toilet.  I didn't like that, but I immediately went over to my little potty and sat down.  Mama sat on the floor in the bathroom with me and we just chatted and I played with the big toilet, flushing it every once in a while.  (I also found a book while I was in there and "read" that)  Mama was thinking I didn't have to go, but after a while, I stood up and I had pooped in the potty!  Mommies were so excited and both started clapping and cheering for me!  I was pretty proud of myself too!  :)

Mommies certainly aren't trying to fully potty train me yet, but they're excited that I'm at least showing some interest now!  Here are some pictures of the event.  Of course there are pictures.  Have you met my mommies?  :)

Hanging out on my potty.

Reading my book.

Being silly.

Laughing after I flushed the big toilet.

Look Mama!  I pooped!!  Yay for me!

Grandma and Grandpa's New Trampoline!

While mommies and I were in Missouri for Labor Day, Grandma and Grandpa bought a new, fun "toy" for the grandkids - a trampoline!  Mommies knew there was a surprise, but they didn't know what it was, so we headed over there on Tuesday afternoon to hang out and check it out.  I'm not sure who was more excited about it - me or Mommy.  As soon as Mommy saw it, she practically jumped out of the car and ran toward it, leaving me and Mama in her dust.  I was a little hesitant with it at first, but I warmed up quickly and had a blast!  While we were over there, we also went for a ride on the Gator and I got to feed the chickens.

Right before we left, mommies both had to go back to the trampoline (apparently I wasn't allowed in for this part) and they both had to "crack an egg".  I guess one of them holds themselves in a ball (like an egg) while the other person jumps and tries to make the "egg" fall apart.  Seems foolish to me but they were screaming and laughing, so I'm thinking it's probably a game I'll like when I'm a little older.  :)

This is fun!

Again, not sure who had more fun with the trampoline.  Mommy could hardly contain her smiles.

Getting the hang of this"jumping" thing!

I want back in!

Gator ride with Mommy.

Checking out the Gator.

Going back for one last jump before we had to go home.

Shoe Obssession

It's been evident for a very long time now that I'm completely obssessed with shoes.  I primarily play with mine, but I also love to play with my mommies' shoes too.  (and have been for quite some time now - Mommy has memories of me trying to walk in her shoes from the time I started walking!)  Mommy's hoping this isn't foreshadowing a future, expensive obssession with shoes...  :)

Here are a few pictures Mama captured of me earlier this week trying on her shoes.

Being particular about the laces.  I can't tie them yet, but I try to make sure they're set just right so they don't drag on the floor when I'm walking.

Watching a little "Wonder Pets" in Mama's shoes.

Feeding Joey while wearing Mama's shoes.  Mommy said this just looked like a disaster in the making.  (which it eventually was - I spilled most of the food on the floor)  :)

Home Sweet Home!

After a long day in the car heading back from Missouri, it was clear that I was REALLY happy to be home again with all of my toys.  I nearly screamed when I got into the house and saw Bobby (the giraffe) sitting there, just waiting for big hugs from me.  Luckily, we headed back a day before mommies had to go back to work, so we had Monday night to relax at home then had Tuesday to hang out before mommies headed back to work and I headed back to "school".  Here are a few silly pictures of me getting reacquainted with some of my favorite toys!

Although they weren't so fresh anymore, that didn't stop me from enjoying a Sweet Martha's cookie leftover from the fair.

Yummy cookie!  (I'm also sporting my new winter crocs in this one that mommies bought for me at the outlet mall)

I spent lots of time that first night visiting with Bobby the giraffe.

Hi old friend!

I also spent some time with my cow.  The cow doesn't have a name yet.  I'm sure it will soon!!

Cheeeeese!!
