Big Girl Playset!

For the last year or so, mommies have been talking about how they eventually wanted to get a big playset for our house.  On Sunday, they decided to go to the Rainbow store to check it out due to a big sale they were having.  Much to my surprise, I got home from school yesterday, and there was a beautiful new play set in our yard!  I was beside myself.  For the first 30 minutes or so, I just kept going from one thing to the next - too excited to spend a significant amount of time on any single activity.  I eventually calmed down a little, but we still ended up playing on it for about 2 hours last night.  It is SO much fun!  Mommies asked me if I love it, and I nodded and said (in my Maggie voice) "Ove it."  It's going to be a FUN summer!

The tire swing might be one of my favorite features.  It's a  fun swing, and it also makes for great storage.  (I stored my shoes inside of it when I decided to take them off)  :)

Children's Museum with the Waltz Family

The Waltz's were in town for spring break this week, so we met up with them yesterday at the Children's Museum!  It was a lot of fun!  It was a little crowded though.  We didn't realize that every third Sunday of the month is free admission.  Free is good, but it was REALLY crowded.  Regardless, we had a great time.  I really loved climbing through the ant holes, but my favorite part was definitely playing in the Water Works area - specifically the bubble table.  Mommies didn't think they would ever get me out of there! 

It was great to catch up with Katie, Jake and Charlie, and I can't wait to see them again at the lake this summer!!

Luca's Baptism

On Saturday afternoon we went to Rice Lake for Luca's baptism.  We started the afternoon at the Weimert's house for a pre-baptism celebration.  I had a great time on the trampoline with my cousins and also playing with all of Lauren and Ella's toys - they have some cool stuff!!  After a couple of hours, we headed to the church for the evening service.  Mommies were very proud, as they were asked to be Luca's godparents!  Luca was so great during the service.  Mommies loved how he stuck his tongue out the whole time.  He's such a cute guy! 

Mommies didn't however love my behavior during the service.  At that point, I hadn't taken a nap all day and was a little "rough".  I wouldn't sit still and was all over the place.  I was quiet, but still not well-behaved.  I passed out pretty much the second we pulled out of the church parking lot.  Some kids are good at skipping naps - I'm not one of them! 

One funny story though - at one point I was crawling between the pews, pushing a piece of paper along.  The paper was making a loud noise that was distracting, so mommies asked Uncle Dave to make me stop.  So Dave put  his foot on the paper so I couldn't push it, which didn't make me happy.   I came up with a simple solution though to get him to move his foot - I just pulled one of his leg hairs.  It doesn't sound that funny, but it was super naughty and funny all at the same time.  Again, I'm obviously not a kid who should skip naps!!

Sleepover with Cal

On Friday night, Cal spent the night because Aunt Becky and Uncle Eric had to go to Dodgeville to pick up some stuff from their old house.  We started the night at a park in Baldwin.  As usual, I was a climbing machine, climbing every ladder and steps I could find.  Cal preferred to run around and explore.  He sure likes to run!  After the park, we went to McDonalds for dinner, then home for books and bed. 

On Saturday morning, it was really nice out, so we spent some time walking around the yard exploring.  After that, we took naps, then headed to Rice Lake for Luca's baptism.

I had a lot of fun with him, and I kept wanting to go into his room when he was sleeping to see him.  I sure do love baby "Cow".  (that's how I pronounce "Cal".)  :)

Cal's obssessed with Joey and the cats, so I was trying to open the door so he could get a closer look.  (unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to open the patio door just yet!)

Busting out the Bubbles!

Now that it's getting nice out, mommies decided to let me bust out the bubble set I got for Easter last year.  (that I hadn't opened yet ... I might have been a bit too young for it last year!!)  I'm constantly asking for bubbles, and once in a while during the winter, mommies would blow a few for me in the house to make me laugh.  Mommies are thrilled that the bubbles can now go outside and they don't have any more dried up soap marks on the floors in the house!  It took me a few minutes to figure out to make the bubbles, but once I figured it out, it was all over.  I would have stayed outside for hours blowing bubbles if mommies let me.  Yet another thing to love about spring/summer!!

The kit they got me for Easter last year has all sorts of different wands and contraptions for making bubbles.

Mommy thinks it looks like I'm smoking a pipe in this one.  Don't worry.  I'm not.  If you look closely though, you can see the bubbles.

I'm getting really good at it!



Making my Own Pizza!

Papa Murphy's recently started selling "Mini Murph" pizza kits for kids.  It's a box that comes with crust, containers of sauce and cheese, and toppings.  When you get  home, you get to make the pizza yourself!  Mommies thought I might like to try it, so they bought me one a couple of weeks ago, and I had so much fun!  I felt like such a big kid making my own dinner.  :)

Warm Weather is a Perfect Time for Cold Treats!

Each day after I woke up from my nap this week, I told Mommy "I wanna go to Grandma's!"  Mommy finally listened and took me to see Grandma and Grace yesterday.  (Grace was staying with Grandma)  As usual, I had a blast there.  I always have fun at the farm!  Yesterday was another beautiful day, so we took a break from playing to eat dreamcicles.  I had never had one before and was a little hesitant at first, but I quickly figured out it was a "treat", and loved it after that.  (okay, I still only ate a little bit of it, but it was huge!)

Breaking in my New Rain Boots!

Now that it's getting  nice out, all of the snow has melted, leaving a nice muddy mess throughout most of our yard.  Mommies quickly realized that the mud and puddles weren't going to stop me from playing, so Mama bought me some new rain boots in order to enjoy it without ruining a good pair of shoes.  She actually bought me two pairs and let me pick - red ladybugs or pink kitties.  No surprise to mommies, I chose the pink kitties. 

I just LOVE my boots.  We walked all over the yard yesterday, and if I was walking through water and hit a patch of dry grass, I'd move over to make sure I was still walking in water.  I also discovered the joy of jumping in puddles!  It may be a messy time of year, but Mama can get stains out of anything, so they're letting me go free and explore!  (no matter how dirty I get!)

Perfect Weather for a Bike Ride!!

Spring decided to come early this year, and boy was I ready for it!!  Although mommies made sure to get me outside almost every day in the winter despite the cold, it's so much nicer to not have to be covered head to toe in snow gear!  I've also learned that I would much rather ride my bike outside than up and down the hallway in our house!!  :)  Mommies can't believe how much progress I've made on my bike riding.  I went from riding in the hallway of our house, to riding about 1/4 of a mile outside a few days ago, to riding 1 mile yesterday!  I just can't get enough!  I even fell twice yesterday (glad I had on a helmet!), and once I was done crying, I climbed right back on my bike both times!  Such a trooper!
